Nangong Kuo (Western Zhou)

Nangong Kuo was an official of . According to ''Classic of History'', he was one of the key ministers of King Wen of Zhou.

Plot in ''Fengshen Yanyi''


Nangong Kuo was also a character featured within the famed ancient Chinese novel ''Fengshen Yanyi''. In this novel, Nangong Kuo is a renowned general that had loyally served under Ji Chang of Mount Singing Phoenix. Nangong generally seems to be more of an aggressive individual, and will rush to rather impulsive conclusions at times. Following the death of Ji Chang's first son, Bo Yi Kao, Nangong would swear eternal revenge against . Due to Nangong's continuous lust to attack Zhaoge at any possible moment, San Yisheng would develop a negative liking towards him.

Following King Wen's attack upon Tiger Town, the capital of Chong Houhu, Nangong would be the first to charge the gates of the capital. Once General Huang Yuanji stood before him, Nangong would loudly exert the words, "''Huang Yuanji, you small potato, get out of my way! I only want to fight the real Chong Houhu himself!''" With these words, Nangong, with his great knife, would cut Huang Yuanji down with relative ease. Later on following General Zhang Guifang's attack upon Phoenix City during the Huang Feihu retrieval arc, Nangong would duel it out against Vanguard Feng Lin. After defeating Feng with great ease, he would be captured by his magic technique; only later due to 's assistance would he be saved.

Muzha (deity)

Muzha is a figure in Chinese mythology and a god in Chinese traditional religion.

Muzha appears in some works including ''Fengshen Yanyi'' and ''Journey to the West''. According to folklore, Muzha was originally born a human during the end of the Shang dynasty to General . He is a disciple of the Bodhisattvas Samantabhadra and Guanyin. He had two brothers, and Jinzha.

Appearance in Fengshen Yanyi


In the famed ancient Chinese novel ''Fengshen Yanyi''. Muzha is the second son of Li Jing and Lady Yin. In appearance, Muzha is seen wearing a small top knot, a silk sash, linen shoes, and a cotton like garment. Thus, Muzha was seen as a celestial being - such as that of a superiorman - in appearance.

For many years, Muzha had left his father, Li Jing to study under Superiorman Universal Converter of White Egret Cave. Following the rebirth of Nezha, and the near death of Li Jing, Li Jing would luckily run into Muzha -- as to save his life. Muzha would react with great anger towards Nezha and would soon battle it out with his renowned long sword against the fire-tipped spear. Soon enough during their fierce duel, Li Jing would try to make another escape; this was the point in which Muzha would be defeated by Nezha's golden brick -- which thrusted him to the ground due to its great weight. Following this point, Muzha would later present himself before Li Resounding, one of four superiormen of Nine Dragon Island. Unfortunately, Muzha chose to immediately kill Li Resounding at the first sign of defiance towards his words. Muzha would remain as a celestial protector of the Western Foothills with Nezha and Jinzha following this point.

Mei Wu

Mei Wu a character featured within the famed Chinese novel ''Fengshen Yanyi''.

Mei Wu has been a high ranking officer under the renowned Shang Dynasty for many a year, and has gained great renown for his loyalty. Following Chong Houhu's coalition against the rebel leader, Su Hu, Mei Wu would be the right hand general serving under the Chong. After Chong finally arrived at the gates to Su Hu's Ji province, Mei Wu had been the first general to respond to the duke's call -- the capture of Su Hu.

When the renowned Mei Wu appeared before Su Hu, he could be seen riding atop a chestnut , wearing bright golden armor, a Phoenix Wing's helmet, and a bright red robe with a lion-headed belt. After the son of Su Hu - Su Quanzhong - appeared as Su Hu's protecter, Mei Wu shouted these words at him: "''Su Quanzhong! You, father and son, are committing a capital crime! You know the king's army can very easily overwhelm your region and destroy your ancestral shrine!''" Thus, Mei Wu, who wielded a golden axe, charged at Quanzhong; a fine duel then ensued between the two great warriors. After the two warriors had fought for more than twenty rounds, Quanzhong finally found an opening and slashed Mei Wu off his horse with his spear. A major battle then ensued, resulting in the fleeing of Chong, and the death of the great Mei Wu.

Mei Wu was appointed as the deity of Tiankong Star in the end.

Mei Bo

Mei Bo was an official of Shang Dynasty and was killed by Di Xin, King Zhou of Shang. He is also a character featured within the famed Chinese novel ''Fengshen Yanyi''.

Plot in fiction


In ''Fengshen Yanyi'', Mei Bo is renowned as the Number One Grand Counselor to King Zhou himself; thus Mei Bo is a very high ranking official under the Shang Dynasty.

After Mei Bo had seen Royal Astrologer Du being escorted by guards through the Noon Gate, Mei Bo questioned Du and then ran off quickly to discuss matters with the deranged king. With the assisted help of Prime Minister Shang Rong, Mei Bo effectively seized the chance to talk matters with the ignorant king. Mei Bo first barks at the king about the unjust punishment and soon death of Du, who was a loyal astrologer serving under the kingdom for over three generations. Mei Bo constantly tells the king that wiping out one of your most loyal officials without just cause is such that of removing a section of your own body. After the idiotic dellusioned king ignored Mei Bo's words, he sentenced him to death through beating.

The king's favorite concubine - Daji - tells King Zhou it would be best to burn him alive in a large toaster for his "evil ways". Thus, it had been decided that Mei Bo was to be burnt to death in the largest most horrid death possible -- to be burned alive in the bronze toaster. When the toaster was finished, it had been over twenty feet tall with three levels of burning fire from three levels of burning charcoal; and two wheels to move it around like a chariot. Before Mei Bo was to be burned alive in the toaster, he uttered the words "''You stupid king! My death is as light as a feather. It matters very little whether I die or live. I am one of your highest ranking counselors. I have served three generations of kings in this dynasty. What crime have I committed? I only fear that Cheng Tang's glorious reign will end by your stupidity and cruelty!''"

Thus, the poor Mei Bo was stripped of all his clothes and was immediately thrown into the very large toaster. While in the toaster, large blood-curdling screams could be heard emmitting from the toaster -- thus installing complete horror into the fellow officials and marking the death of one of many Shang loyalists.

Mei Bo was appointed as the deity of Tiande Star in the end.

Lu Xiong

Lu Xiong is a meager character featured within the famed ancient Chinese novel ''Fengshen Yanyi''.

Lu Xiong is a renowned commanding general that had served under the Shang Dynasty for many years. At the time of the Su Hu arc, Lu would be inform the king that it would not be best to send Chong Houhu as the coalition leader, for many lives will be taken away in an unnecessary fashion. Thus, Lu Xiong would tell the king to give the Imperial Battle Axe to Ji Chang.

During the Queen Jiang arc, Lu would be chosen as the head guard of the Nine Dragon Bridge while King Zhou headed out to the Demarcation Building. During the time of Jiang Huan's personal attack upon the king, Lu would not seem to remember anything of such the following day.

Lu Xiong was appointed as the deity of Shuide Star in the end.

Liu Qian

Liu Quin a character featured within the famed ancient Chinese novel ''Investiture of the Gods'' .

Liu Quin is a renowned firewood cutter renowned across the capital, Zhaoge. One day, Liu Quin would browse around the southern gate of the capital and notice a small fortune telling house. Upon approaching this house, he would first wake up Jiang Ziya, the owner, and tell him, "''If you can tell the past and the future, then your fortune telling skill must be great. Tell me my fortune for this day. If accurate, I will give you twenty coppers. If not, I will give you my fist so that you will never make a fool out of anyone again!''" Thus, Jiang Ziya would present a fortune before Liu Quin that would seem near to impossible. While even trying to change the outcome of his fortune, his destiny had already been set any everything ended up turning out exactly as Jiang had predicted.

Thus, the next morning, Liu Qian would rush quickly into Jiang's house studio and loudly utter the words, "''Mr. Jiang is the best fortune teller who ever lived! In fact, I think he is a demigod from heaven. Now that we have such a genius among us, no one needs to suffer any more anxiety.''" With these words, Liu Qian, the very strong man who was feared as a bully would be well respected following this point.

Li Jing (deity)

Li Jing , also known as the Pagoda-Bearing Heavenly King Li is a figure in Chinese mythology and a god in Chinese folk religion. He is one of the Four Heavenly Kings. He also appears in the classic Chinese novels ''Journey to the West'' and ''Fengshen Yanyi'' . He is an analogue of Vaisravana.

Character history in ''Fengshen Yanyi''



Li Jing is renowned throughout the Shang Dynasty as a high ranking commander officer of the Old Pond Pass. His wife is Lady Yin, and he has three sons, Jinzha, , and . Throughout his past, Li Jing had studied under Superiorman Danger Skipper of Mount Kunlun, and had soon become a master of exceedingly fast underground travel . Thus, Li Jing gave a new name to the art of speed after being forced down to the Red Dust.

In time, Li Jing would have a third son by the name of , as destined by the heavens. However, Nezha would cause untold chaos and trouble in the future, such as that with the Eastern Sea Dragon King Ao Guang and Madam Rockie. Due to Nezha, Li Jing would almost need to give up his own life to Ao Guang if it weren't for the sacrifice of Nezha's body. Following the bitter luck attained with his third son, Li Jing would even burn the primary sacrificial temple that had been built as a container for Nezha's spirit following his death. However, such an action would only lead for Nezha to vow to kill his father. Following Nezha's return thanks to his master, Taiyi Zhenren, various servants would scutter to Li Jing's inner quarters and announce Nezha's return. After heading out and realizing that his third son indeed was standing before him, he would utter the words, "''You vermin! When you were my child, you caused untold calamities. Why do you reincarnate and disturb the peace?''" Thus, a major conflict between Li Jing and Nezha was about to unfold.

After battling off against the celestial being Nezha, he soon realized that his mortal body did not match 1 to 100 compared to that of Nezha's. Thus, Li Jing would run as fast as he could underground in a state of incredible fear for his life. In luck, Li Jing happened to run into his second son, . Following Muzha's defeat by Nezha's hands, Li Jing would try to commit suicide with his knife blade. Quickly appearing, Wenshu Guangfa Tianzun would rescue Li Jing's life and contain Nezha. In time, Nezha would be forced to submit fake harmony with his father after being restrained by another superiorman by the name of Randeng Daoren. To effectively constrain his son, Randeng Daoren would teach Li Jing how to use the golden tower art as to trap Nezha within a burning tower if opposed. Thus, following this point, Nezha would be forced to submit to Li Jing, or now better known as Li the Pagoda Bearer.

Li Gen (yaksha)

Li Gen is a character featured within the famed ancient Chinese novel ''Investiture of the Gods'' .

As a yaksha, Li Gen is the number one investigator under the Dragon King Ao Guang. In appearance, Li Gen is a lizard like creature with long mercury red hair, protruding fangs, and a face the color of indigo.

After the celestial being, had been washing himself within the Nine Curve River - which had upset Ao Guang's Crystal Palace to an abnormal extent - Li Gen would be sent out to investigate, as like he should. When Li Gen found Nezha and concluded that he would make a delicious meal for his master, he began to bark at Nezha for his actions. After being called a beast in an undermining way by Nezha, Li Gen's anger would burst, leading for him to charge at Nezha with his renowned steel trident. Instantly however, Li Gen would find himself dead upon the ground after being strucken by Nezha's legendary golden bracelet.

Leizhenzi

Leizhenzi a character featured within the famed ancient Chinese novel ''Investiture of the Gods'' .

Leizhenzi is a celestial being that had been created by a certain great thunderstorm at Mount Swallow. Ji Chang had been the one to first receive the small new born, and thus the baby would become known as the third son of Ji Chang. However, Yunzhongzi would take the newborn in as his own disciple, for he was destined to assist in the creation of the new Zhou Dynasty.

Seven years later, at a time in which Ji Chang was seen fleeing for his life from the capital after finally being freed, Leizhenzi, now seven, would be sitting with his master, Yunzhongzi atop Mount South End. Once Leizhenzi was told to assist his father, but first grab ahold of his weapon - which was by the cliff's edge - Leizhenzi would look everywhere in wonder. Soon enough, Leizhenzi would find two large apricots at the edge of the cliff, and eat them both with due haste. Immediately following this point, two large wings would suddenly sprout from Leizhenzi's back, and his face became like that of a monsters'.

Once Leizhenzi returned to his father, he would receive a golden rod as his weapon and would be instructed to finally assist his father. Thus, once Leizhenzi met his father atop a mountain slope, he would first deal with General Lei and Yin by creating a rock slide with his golden rod. While hanging on to Leizhenzi's back, Leizhenzi would then transport his father through the five mountain passes. With these words, Leizhenzi would depart from his father: "''My father, you are now safe. Now I must say good-bye and return to Mount South End. Please take care of yourself. I will see you again someday.''"

Lady Yin

Lady Yin a minor character featured within the famed ancient Chinese novel ''Fengshen Yanyi''. Lady Yin is the wife of and they have three sons, Jinzha, , and .

Throughout the Nezha birth arc in ''Fengshen Yanyi'', Lady Yin would always be known to reflect many acts of kindness to her third son -- no matter what he truly did. Thus, Lady Yin would be seen protecting Nezha at many times throughout the novel, even when he performed horendous actions such as the killing of Ao Guang's third son, Ao Bing. After Nezha had given his own body as a sacrifice to Ao Guang in order to protect his family, Lady Yin would end up erecting a temple atop the Green Screen Hill as a stationing area for Nezha's spirit . Lady Yin would be scolded by Li Jing profusely following this point.

Jiutou Zhiji Jing

Jiutou Zhiji Jing is a yaojing changed from a pheasant with nine heads. She is a character featured within the famed ancient Chinese novel ''Investiture of the Gods''.

As like both Pipa Jing and Daji, Zhiji Jing is one of three specters under . In appearance, Zhiji Jing wore a large red robe, a silk sash around her slim waist, and small red linen shoes. She also possessed beautiful eyes like that of an autumn lake. Once Daji headed to the tomb of the Yellow Emperor to retrieve Zhiji Jing - along with her other fox cohorts - Zhiji Jing would be shown for the first time.

Daji had the intent to bring her friends to a banquet disquised as heavenly maidens as to trick the king. Once the true forms of Zhiji Jing and her allies were revealed to Vice Prime Minister Bi Gan, and each specter returned to their original layer, Huang Feihu would set out and turn their home into flames; a resolution that killed every specter except Splendor herself. Following this event, Daji would return to the tomb of the Yellow Emperor and find her sister, Zhiji Jing, the only survivor. However, she would head back to Zhaoge with Daji disguised as an even more beautiful woman. While disguised as a woman, Zhiji Jing would play along with her sister's scheme by spending some personal time with King Zhou. In short time, Zhiji Jing would decide to stay with the king at Zhaoge instead of living in the mountains as previously.

Jiao Ge

Jiao Ge was an official of Shang Dynasty. He was also a character featured within the famed ancient Chinese novel ''Fengshen Yanyi.

Plot in ''Fengshen Yanyi''


Jiao Ge is a Grand Counselor that has been serving under the renowned Shang Dynasty for many a year. Once had unleashed a certain edict to create a large pit of spiders and snakes as to feed the seventy-one remaining maidens for holding on to their original Queen, Jiao Ge would decide it best to discuss the issue with Prince Huang Feihu.

Once the maidens began to be thrown into the pit, Jiao Ge would immediately present himself before King Zhou and wished for an answer. During Jiao Ge's anger, he would continuously blabber on at the king that killing his own people is equivalent to that of slicing of your own arms and legs. Once the king's anger as well exploded, he ordered that Jiao Ge would be thrown into the pit as well. These would be the last words of Jiao Ge before throwing himself over the Star-Picking Belvedere, "''You no good bird-brain! Your name will be stinking with cruetly for thousands of years!''" Thus immediately following this, other random officials would watch in horror as another loyal official killed himself for the sake of his kingdom.

Jiao Ge was appointed as the deity of Zoushu Star in the end.

Yin Jiao

Yin Jiao is a character within the famed ancient Chinese novel ''Fengshen Yanyi''.

Yin Jiao is the first son of King Zhou of Shang Dynasty.

Yin Jiao was appointed as the God of the Year in the end.

Yin Hong

Yin Hong is a character within the famed ancient Chinese novel ''Fengshen Yanyi''.

Yin Hong is the second son of King Zhou of Shang Dynasty.

Yin Hong was appointed as the Five Grains Star in the end.

Yang Ren

Yang Ren is a character featured within the famed ancient Chinese novel ''Fengshen Yanyi''.

Yang Ren is a high ranking official within the Shang Dynasty and is known through the title of Grand Counselor. Once the Jiang Ziya "suicide" incident was at a close, Yang Ren would investigate the reason. Once a messenger headed to Chong Houhu explained the entire situation with Yang Ren, Yang Ren would discuss the issue with . As usual, King Zhou grew exceedingly angry over Yang Ren's logic and immediately demanded for his eyes to be gouged out as punishment. Once this process was performed, Yang Ren would lay on the ground in utter shock while covered in his own blood.

To save any further bloodshed from the loyal official, Yang Ren, Superiorman Insouciant of Mount Green Top, Purple Cave would rescue him with his Yellow Kerchiefed Genie. While Yang Ren was being held within the superiormen's arms, he would blow on Yang Ren's eye sockets and effectively awaken him with a pair of hands that had eyes within the palm -- rather than a pair of eyes itself. The superiorman would claim that Yang Ren's time has not been alloted as over under the will of heaven, and thus he will remain as a disciple of Insouciant for the remainder of his time.

Yang Ren was appointed as the deity of Jiazi Taisui Shen in the end.

Wu Ji

Wu Ji is a character featured within the famed ancient Chinese novel ''Investiture of the Gods'' .

Wu Ji is a common woodcutter that spends each of his days cutting down wood within the Western Foothills. Every day however, Wu Ji would happen to notice Jiang Ziya sitting beneath a large willow tree while fishing baitless. Due to this, Wu Ji would sit by Jiang Ziya at a certain point in time and ask his name. At first, Wu Ji would laugh at Jiang, because his by-name had been Flying Bear, but only high ranking officials or learned individuals should be in the possession of a by-name. Soon enough after Wu Ji seemingly mocks Jiang in a more subtle way, Jiang would tell Wu Ji that he will kill a person today. With anger at being cursed, Wu Ji would take his leave.

However, later throughout the same day, Wu Ji would return to Jiang Ziya while pleading for his help -- for he had indeed killed an invidividual by accident. Soon enough, Jiang would manage to assist Wu Ji after he vowed to be his disciple. Later on following the arrival of Ji Chang's entourage at River Pan, Wu Ji would be shown and would lead Ji Chang to his master's house. Following the employment of Jiang Ziya as Prime Minister under Ji Chang, Wu Ji would attain the rank of general.

Wenshu Guangfa Tianzun

Wenshu Guangfa Tianzun is a character featured within the famed ancient Chinese novel ''Investiture of the Gods'' . This role originated from Manjusri, a Bodhisattva in Buddhism.

Guangfa Tianzun is the superiorman over Mount Five Dragons, Cloud Top Cave and the renowned teacher of Jinzha, the first son of . In rank, Guangfa Tianzun is seemingly an elite superiorman -- even greater than that of 's teacher Taiyi Zhenren.

After a fine duel had ensued between and Nezha and Li Jing attempted his first suicide, Guangfa Tianzun would appear. Once Guangfa Tianzun had ordered Li Jing to enter his cave for safety, he would personally settle things with the "spoiled brat" Nezha. Once Nezha's temper raged and he thrusted his spear continuously at Guangfa Tianzun, Guangfa Tianzun would side step and throw his legendary Seven Treasure Golden Lotus over Nezha's head. Nezha would lose consciousness quickly following this and would find himself tied to a large gold post while cuffed by golden rings. Soon enough, Guangfa Tianzun would order Jinzha, his student, to flog Nezha. Following the arrival of Nezha's teacher, Taiyi Zhenren, it would be revealed that the whole event between Li Jing and Nezha had been set by Taiyi Zhenren as a chance to teach Nezha some discipline. After Nezha greeted Guangfa Tianzun and his master - who was sitting to Guangfa Tianzun's right - Nezha would have a great level of inner resent.

Following the leave of Nezha and Li Jing upon Guangfa Tianzun's order, Guangfa Tianzun would not be seen again for quite some time.

Wen Zhong (Shang Dynasty)

Wen Zhong is a major character featured within the famed ancient Chinese novel ''Fengshen Yanyi'').

Wen Zhong had been the top ranked official under King since the times of old. Following the death of Da Yi, Wen Zhong would crown as the new king of the Shang Dynasty. In short time, Wen Zhong would head out on his great dragon to subdue rebelling demons within the North Sea .

Throughout Wen Zhong's fifteen years of battle, he would be destined to play a very large role in the schemes of Heaven. By decree of the Jade Emperor himself, Wen Zhong would attain a third eye atop his forehead. This third eye could see through any level of disillusion and falsehood. Upon Wen Zhong's arrival at the Noon Gate, he would greet his colleagues and see the absurdness of the situation; immediately Wen Zhong would order the king to come before him. After listening to the king's bickering, and easily seeing through to his true deluded idiocy, Wen Zhong would invite his allies to attend to the situation.

Wen Zhong was appointed as the deity of Puhua Tianzun in the end.

Welkin Lords

The Welkin Lords are a set of ten whale lords that later assist Grand Old Master in his campaign against Baby Tooth.

Welkin Lord Qin



Welkin Lord Qin is the wielder of the Heaven-Extinguishing Battle Formation. Following the beginning of the competition to break the ten battle formations, Lord Qin's formation would be the first. Lord Qin would start off by personally dueling against victim # 1 Deng Hua. After Qin had lead Deng Hua into his formation, Qin would wave two large flags before beheading Deng Hua in one quick sweep of his blade. Following this point, Broad Altruist would appear before Lord Qin and enter his formation. Within the formation, Broad Altruist would unleash his white lotus flowers upon Lord Qin. In the end, Qin would unfortunately be bound by Broad Altruist's rings before being beheaded.

Welkin Lord Zhou



Welkin Lord Zhou is the wielder of the Earth-Quaking Battle Formation. Following the defeat of Qin, Lord Zhou's formation would be chosen as the second within the competition. In short time, Lord Zhou would battle it out against the next chosen competitor, Lethal Dragon. After feinting defeat and fleeing into his formation, he would begin to wave his own flags profusely. Instantly, many bolts of lightning would strike down from the skies and turn Lethal Dragon into nothing more than a pile of powder. Thus, Alert Minded would be chosen to enter Zhou's formation. While within the formation, Alert Minded would envelop himself within a protective cloud to negate the lighting. While within this cloud, Lord Zhou would unknowingly be wrapped up by silken thread before being thrusted to the ground by Alert Minded's genie. The impact of Zhou's fall would effectively put an end to his life -- and that of his formation.

Welkin Lord Deng



Welkin Lord Deng is the wielder of the Howling Gale Battle Formation. Deng would be the third challenger within the 'Formation Competition'. The elder of the two Fang Brothers would be chosen as the competitor for Deng's formation. Unfortunately for Fang, he did not even realize the situation, and simply acted through his brute force rather than wit. Following a brief duel between Deng and Fang, Deng would retreat back into his formation. In a relative instant, the unfortunate Fang would be cut up into pieces by Deng's howling gales. This time, Mercy Voyager would be chosen as the second competitor. Unlike the unfortunate Fang, however, Voyager possessed the item needed to do away with the formation: the Wind Calming Pearl. Upon the entering of Deng's formation, the situation seemed truly hopeless - for Mercy Voyager's pearl negated all of his blows. Once the crystal vase of Voyager had been opened, Lord Deng, and his formation, would both be sucked up into the vase; this was the end of Deng and his formation.

Welkin Lord Yuan



Welkin Lord Yuan is the wielder of the Frozen-Glacier Battle Formation. Following the sudden death of Lord Deng, Yuan would quickly appear as the fourth challenger. Once Bad Tempered Tiger had been chosen as Yuan's competitor, a fierce duel would ensue. Before long, Bad Tempered Tiger would be led into the formation and immediately suffer death after being crushed by two large glaciers. Universal Converter would thus be chosen as the second competitor. Upon the entering of Yuan's formation, any glacier blow would be easily brushed off by Converter's golden light burning clouds. After Yuan realized that he was getting no where whatsoever, he would foolishly run; an action that would bring immediate death to Yuan.

Welkin Lady Luminous Glo



Welkin Lady Luminous Glo is the only Welkin Lady and wielder of the Golden-Light Battle Formation. Following the death of Lord Yuan, Luminous Glo would charge out atop her white flowered leopard and give battle. Following the arrival of Xiao Qin, a few brief contacts of both blades would be performed before retreat. Upon the entering of Glo's formation, Luminous Glo would quickly activate her twenty-one prisms to burn Xiao Qin's body into dust. Lamp Lighter would thus send Broad Achiever to do away with Luminous Glo. Once both had entered the formation, Luminous Glo would immediately unleash the potential of her prisms. Unfortunately for Luminous Glo however, Broad Achiever's cape had not only blocked her rays but also shattered the prisms themselves. After some time, Broad Achiever would throw a large rock at Luminous Glo's forehead - killing her instantly.

Welkin Lord Sun



Welkin Lord Sun is the wielder of the Blood-Curdling Battle Formation. In appearance, Lord Sun's face was the color of purple, wrinkled in fat, surrounded by a long white beard, and the shape of a large prune. Following the death of Lady Luminous Glo, Lord Sun would appear before Qiu Kun, his first competitor. After a brief duel, Qiu Kun would enter Lord Sun's formation. By merely throwing a handful of red sand into Qiu Kun's direction, Qiu Kun would instantly be reduced to nothing more than bloody shreds. Lamp Lighter would thus choose the great Superiorman Paragon would as the second competitor. Lord Sun's red sand, however, had no effect on Paragon . Indeed, Lord Sun would lose great confidence once he realized that his sand was nothing more than mere powder comparied to Paragon's technique. By merely clapping his hands, Paragon unleashed nine large fire dragons to burn Lord Sun to a bloody crisp.

The Five Colored-Face Devils

The Five Colored-Face Devils a set of five characters featured within the famed ancient Chinese novel ''Investiture of the Gods'' .

These devils, known as the Five Colored-Face Devils have been situated within a large garden near the PEONY PAVILION and have played and guarded the pavilion for centuries upon centuries. One day Jiang Baby Tooth begins to build a five-room villa within their territory and the five devils summon a large tornado to destroy the production of Jiang's new tower. Stones and dust are continuously thrown around while the five demons stand together within their fire whirlwind. Once Jiang presents himself before the five demons, they all beg for mercy and ask forgiveness, considering that the area had been their territory for many a year. Following this, Jiang tells the five demons to go to the Western Foothills of of Mount Singling Phoenix and never be seen again elsehere. The demons comply and are never seen again.

The Fang Brothers

The Fang Brothers a set of two characters featured within the famed ancient Chinese novel Investiture of the Gods . Fang Da and Fang Er, the Fang Brothers, are Palace Security Guards under the Shang Dynasty. At one point in time following the cruel death of Quuen Jiang, every high ranking official would discuss matters with Prince Yellow Flyinger Tiger -- the Fang Brothers being included. Soon enough, the brothers would spout the words, "''King Zhou is vicious and mindless. He killed his queen, and now he wants to kill his two sons! We are rebelling! We brothers are taking these two princes to East Lu State to seek help.''" Thus, the two brothers charge through the gates each with one prince underneath their arms; no one was able to stop them due to their brute strength. In time, once Yellow Flying Tiger attained the Dragon-Phoenix sword to supposedly subdue the Fang Brothers, he would instead meet up with them and plan their resolved route. Soon enough, it had been decided that Fang Er would go to the Grand Duke of the South and ask for troops to avenge the death of Queen Jiang while Fang Da brought the two young princes to the Grand Duke of the East. Following the success of these tasks, the Fang Brothers would leave in tears and would not be shown again.

Taiyi Zhenren

Taiyi Zhenren is a famous character in Chinese folklore. ''Taiyi'' means "primordial unity of yin and yang" and ''Zhenren'' is a Daoist term for "Perfected Person". According to the opening of the famous novel ''Fengshen Yanyi'', he is the reincarnation of the first emperor of the Shang dynasty, Shang Tang.

In ''Fengshen Yanyi'', Taiyi Zhenren is the renowned teacher of , the celestial being destined to bring peace back to the Zhou Dynasty. Taiyi Zhenren is stationed atop Mount Champion and instructed Nezha to stay at Old Pond Pass - the place he had been born. After Nezha experienced great trouble with Ao Guang and went fleeing back to him, Taiyi Zhenren would at first be seen in deep thought; Zhenren would soon draw an "invisible juju" along his back however -- as to give him a safe passage to heaven through invisibility. After Nezha created further issues with a woman by the name of Madam Rockie, Taiyi Zhenren would soon be seen face to face with her in front of Taiyi Zhenren's cave which Nezha retreated into for protection. After having no choice but to be rid of Madam Rockie, he would start off by disabling the silk scarf which she stole from Nezha, and then trap her within his Nine-dragon-fire-net. While trapped in this net, Taiyi Zhenren summoned several dragons which unleashed a large volley of fire into the net; instantly killing Madam Rockie and turning her back into her original form as a molten rock.

Su Quanzhong

Su Quanzhong is a character featured within the famed ancient Chinese novel ''Fengshen Yanyi''.

Su Quanzhong is the son of Su Hu, a neutrally high ranked official of the Shang Dynasty. In appearance, Su Quanzhong had a face like a full moon with red lips which seemed as if painted. With his hair tied behind his head with a large golden ring, two large bird feathers would be seen protruding. Following the coalition against Su Hu led by Chong Houhu, Su would be known as a renowned protector of Ji province. Once Chong had arrived at the borders to Ji province and unleashed his right hand general, Mei Wu, Su would spur his horse forward and duel it out with him. Following twenty rounds of spear clashes, Su would find an opening and cut Mei Wu down. Following Chong's second retreat during the night from the burning forest, Su would descend down the mountaintop upon Chong while shining through the full moon's light.

During his charge, he would elaborate his prowess by striking down both of Chong's head generals and even wounding Chong through his left arm. Once the moon was blotted out by the clouds and Chong retreated for the third time, Su found the situation as being too dangerous and decided it best to head back to his father. In time, the great Chong Heihu came as support for Chong Houhu. Soon enough, Su, even when told not to by his father, would charge out of Ji province and duel it out against Heihu. During their battle, their spears clashed like lightning through darkness-stricken clouds. In time, Heihu would unleash his magical gourd and capture Su. Following the end of the Su Hu arc, Su Quanzhong would pay his respect towards the first man who ever defeated him, Heihu, and continued to prosper with his respected father.

Su Quanzhong was appointed as the deity in Beidou Xinggong in the end.

Song Yiren

Song Yiren is a character featured within the famed ancient Chinese novel ''Investiture of the Gods''.

Song Yiren is known as the greatest friend of Jiang Ziya since their childhood. Song would quickly be renowned for his very rich farming ranch - which had been stationed near the capital of Zhaoge - and his overall generosity to his fellow people. At the time in which Jiang had been a poor orphan, Song made sure that his new friend would be fully treated and taken care of.

After Song met his friend once again following a time lapse of many decades, he would start off by finding him a wife. By doing so, Song would head out to his old friend, Ma Hong and receive a woman for his friend. Following this point, Song would generally support Jiang Ziya to his greatest potential, even though his friend had seemingly destined ill luck. Thus, Song's enthusiasm and optimism would soar to a rather high level. Following Jiang's ascension to Prime Minister of Mount Singing Phoenix, Song Yiren would not be shown again.

Shen Jie (Fengshen Yanyi)

Shen Jie ; Pinyin: Shēn Jíe) a minor character featured within the famed ancient Chinese novel ''Investiture of the Gods''.

Shen Jie is the owner of a certain inn that neighbors Phoenix City, the homeland of Ji Chang. For over five generations Shen Jie has supported this inn. Once Ji Chang had entered this small inn and asked for food, Shen Jie would realize his position and feed him to his heart's content. In an act of kindness, Shen Jie would escort Ji Chang back to his homeland on horse, while Ji Chang would use a donkey. Following Ji Chang's return, Shen Jie would continue to support him to his greatest extent, and would enjoy great feasting with Ji Chang's fellow people.

Following this point, Shen Jie would head back to his old inn with his son, Ho, and continue to enjoy the ways of simplicity.

Zheng Lun

Zhen Lun is a character featured within the famed ancient Chinese novel ''Fengshen Yanyi''.

Zheng Lun was originally the head student under Superiorman Bubble Vaunter of the Western Kunlun Mountains. Zheng Lun would be destined to assist in the founding of the new dynasty and one day attain the rank of God. For years upon end, Zheng Lun would train his legendary black crow troops and attain perfection with his Evil-Taming bars. At one point in time, Zheng Lun would head down from the Kunlun Mountains to serve as a loyal sword of Su Hu, the head of Ji province.

At one point within the coalition against Su Hu, Zheng Lun would personally take action against the new enemy, Chong Heihu, with the words, "''My lord! I will capture Chong Heihu for you! Or I will present you with my head before all these generals.''" So saying, Zheng Lun would mount his golden-eyed beast, grab hold of his two bars, and set forth with his great army of three thousand black crow troops.

In appearance before Chong Heihu, it could easily be seen that Zheng Lun's hair was like that of golden needles, and his face was like that of a purple plum. Immediately, Zheng Lun's great taming bars would parry off against Chong's duel golden axes, and thus a great battle would ensue between the two renowned warriors. Soon enough, Zheng would recognize the large red gourd atop Chong's back and instantly realize that it is his source for his magic. Thus, Zheng Lun would shoot two large jets from both of his nostrils to suck up Chong's spirit and soul. Once this process was completed, Zheng Lun returned to Ji province with the unconscious Chong as prisoner. Following this point, Zheng Lun would not be featured again for quite some time.

Zheng Lun and Chen Qi was appointed as the deity of Heng Ha Erjiang in the end.

Zhao Qi

''For the emperor, see Emperor Duzong of Song.'' ''For the , see Zhao Qi ''

Zhao Qi is a character featured within the famed ancient Chinese novel ''Fengshen Yanyi''.

Zhao Qi is renowned as a Grand Counselor over the Shang Dynasty. When the princes had finally been both caught and hung up within the executional area, Zhao Qi would boldly tear up the executional edict sent by the king himself. Thus, Zhao Qi was seemingly the equal of Shang Rong, who as well came to elaborate the idiocy of the king.

After Shang Rong's unfortunate death within the throne hall before the king, Zhao Qi would also speak his ultimate beliefs. Even after then being threatened of death by , Zhao Qi would spout the words, "''I have no fear of dying. My death will let future generations know how I feel about your termination of Cheng Tang's reign! May your foul name stink for millions of years!''" Thus, Zhao Qi died with his fellow friend, Shang Rong as a bold figure that would forever serve as a loyal sword of Cheng Tang.

Zhao Qi was appointed as the deity of Tianshe Star in the end.

Zhang Guifang

Zhang Guifang is a fictional character featured within the famed novel ''Investiture of the Gods''.

Background


Zhang Guifang is the commander of Green Dragon Pass and serves under Grand Old Master like an iron sword. In appearance, Zhang wears bulky white royal armor and wields a large ice spear. Due to Zhang's original status, he wields the magical ability "name call"; with this ability, Zhang could paralyze any individual if he happens to say their true name .

Following the trickery of Chao Lei, Wen Zhong would send Zhang and his vanguard Feng Lin to the Western Foothills on a punitive campaign. Following Zhang's arrival, he would try to convince Jiang Ziya to "see the light" and return to . Shortly following this, a major battle would ensue between Zhang and his army. While personally dueling against Huang Feihu, he would shout the words, "''Huang Feihu, get down from your beast!''" Thus, Zhang captured Huang and returned to camp.

Later on, would confront Zhang around two days following the previous conflict with Jiang Ziya. Nezha would use his divine renown to easily smash through Zhang's unit of a thousand troops and even destroy Zhang's right arm with a crucial attack. However, Wang Magus would later heal Zhang's wounds, effectively allowing him to return again in battle. Following the desperate actions of Li Resounding, Zhang would immediately appear and rescue him from trouble. However, Zhang himself would be forced to flee. At the time of night, Jiang Ziya would send the Chao Twins and Heavenly Happiness before Zhang's camp. After declaring his eternal allegiance to King Zhou, Zhang would commit suicide by impaling himself with his sword.

Zhang Guifang was appointed as the deity of Sangmenxing in the end.

Zhang Feng

Zhang Feng is a character featured within the famed ancient Chinese novel ''Investiture of the Gods''.

Zhang Feng is most notably known as "Uncle Zhang" due to being the uncle of Huang Feihu. At the time of Huang's escape from the capital and his arrival within the Upon-Highwater Pass, Zhang Feng would be featured for the first time. After Huang had asked for passage, and refused to head back to Zhaoge, Zhang Feng would attack his cousin for his opposition towards the king. Upon Zhang's rather quick defeat, he would attempt to use his One-Hundred-Crucible twin hammers against Huang Feihu; an action that truly resulted in failure. Upon his return to the pass' main camp, Zhang would perform a plan to kill Huang with his subordinate, Akin Silver. However, Akin Silver's loyalty to Huang Feihu outwayed Zhang's, and he would thus allow Huang secret passage during the night. Once Zhang Feng had realized this, he would attack his subordinate but would only be cut down himself.

Zhang Feng was appointed as the deity of Zuangu Star in the end.

Yunzhongzi

Yunzhongzi is a character featured within the famed novel ''Fengshen Yanyi''.

Yunzhongzi is a renowned immortal of the Jade Column Cave atop Mount South End. After the sinister Daji had taken her grasp over King Zhou of Shang, Yunzhongzi would be the first immortal to see the injustice from above the clouds. After Yunzhongzi had realized that this had been none other than the Thousand-Year Vixen, he exlclaimed the words, "''If she is not eliminated, great disaster will befall the Red Dust! I must prevent this from happening!''" Following this event, Yunzhongzi would present himself before King Zhou. After the king had asked for Yunzhongzi's home, Yunzhongzi would respond by saying that he is from cloud-water -- heart of cloud; mind of fluidity. Thus following this point, Yunzhongzi would engage in a great reformative conversation with the king, in hopes that he would be rid of Daji and employ the taoist way to his kingdom. Before Yunzhongzi leaves the king, he hands him his wooden sword - a sword that will gradually kill Daji through its latent spiritual power instilled by Yunzhongzi.

5 chapters later during the time of chapter 10, Yunzhongzi would be seen once again before the Grand Duke of the West, Ji Chang. After a special child had been found in a mysterious tomb following a very rare and sudden lightning storm, Yunzhongzi would once again appear. When Yunzhongzi had held the small baby in his arms after receiving consent, he said the words, "''My Grand Duke. Please let me take this child to Mount South End, to raise and educate. When you come back in seven years, I will return him to you.''" Thus holding the baby in his hands, he parts the clouds and returns to the skies, determined to instill the taoist ways into this future savior of the new dynasty.

Later on within chapter 22, Yunzhongzi would peer over his Mount South End and see Ji Chang being chased by Generals Yin and Lei of Zhaoge. Once Cloud Dweller unleashes Leizhenzi to save Ji Chang, he is not shown again for some time.
